Offline access to clinical notes & diary
Need to have ability to work offline in the event of power failure or internet outage, or for home visits. Currently, an internet problem means we cannot continue to treat patients as notes aren't available. We print out daily clinician appointments but unable to make further appointments if internet out.

Gensovle has a very good up time 99.98% on average and if by chance you do have a power outage then you are able to as per the other comments use a laptop and hot spot. Everyone can view our up time and any outages on our status page. http://status.gensolve.com/
Gensolve Web version is now being updated constantly and we are now adding in more and more exams and other areas. It might be worth having a look at this area. https://augpm.gensolve.com/login

The main Gensolve application requires an internet connection. The offline option is only available to view the appointment book for example, - normal functionality is not possible in this mode.
The alternative in the event of power or internet outage, is the use of the Web View application which you can use on any browser, such as your smartphone and allows for the ability to view, create and delete appointments along with other functions. The Web View version of Gensolve is being developed continuously and going forward, will include the ability to create/view Medical Notes.

Definitely need this. However, users would need to realise that only one person in the clinic could be booking the next appointment for patients, otherwise there is the risk of double booking patients.

okay you could hot spot on the phone to get internet - we have a backup mobile one. But you can't do that when the Gensolve server/internet is down, which is exactly what happened in the case of my last comment...

When internet outage, there is the ability to access the appointment book view via the 'web view' which can be accessed on any browser/smart phone.

The nature of our area is that power outages are not uncommon - we just hot spot through phones or a modem that is kept in the clinic for mobile use. I would argue that it is not viable to work offline as you need the file open in the first place to be able to do this.

I think this is a very important feature! I was about to start a new featuer when I found this.
With the failure of Telstra on Friday, we thank goodness had backup internet which allowed us to access Gensolve. HOWEVER, Gensolve server's internet failed and we were booted from the program for 1.5 hours.
One of the features in Gensolve that attracted us was the clinical notes feature. However, after Friday, we are seriously reconsidering - if we have no access to the system, we will not be able to access clinical notes and previous assessments!
If on the other hand we have a local/offline access, it can be re-synced when the Gensolve server is back in action.

Very important if there is a power failure
